Sunergise Wins SEANZ Award for Best Off-grid Implementation
The award, for the Sunergise implementation featuring Tesla battery storage at Kiabu Island was announced at the industry dinner that was part of the Sustainable Energy Association of New Zealand (SEANZ) annual “Tomorrow’s Energy Today” conference showcasing the best of New Zealand’s sustainable energy sector.
It has been another strong year for the industry says SEANZ Chairman, Brendan Winitana.
“The past year has been categorised by the use of smart technologies that work together with solar installations to help customers get the most from their smart energy systems.
“All installations have apps and energy management systems to ensure that energy can be used during the day when it is generated, providing an immediate benefit and maximising returns to customers.
“People want smart energy technologies that lower costs, reduce carbon emissions, and provide a more resilient energy future, “says Mr Winitana.
“The convergence of these technologies is where SEANZ members operate and deliver smart energy solutions for customers.”
Best Solar PV and Storage Off-grid Implementation was awarded to Sunergise for work at Kaibu (Fiji), a remote island resort. The 396kWp system, with 600 panels and Tesla 400kW/680kWh battery storage helps Kiabu further provide sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities and to mitigate against the effects of climate change.
Speakers at the two day conference included MP Michael Wood - Chairperson of the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee & Member of the Transport and Infrastructure Select Committee.
