PM Commends Sunergise for Vio Microgrid

Sunergise and Energy Fiji Limited were commended today by the Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama for their partnership in installing Vio Island’s microgrid and solar-battery system.

Mr Bainimarama made these remarks when he opened the Vio Fijian Rural Electrification Fund (FREF) project at Vio Island outside Lautoka City yesterday. “It’s a milestone for all Fijians to celebrate a new era of clean, renewable electricity,” he said.

The Vio Island implementation is the first of many as part of the Fiji Rural Electrification Fund supported by Hollywood A-list celebrity and climate champion Leonardo DiCaprio as well as the British high commission, the Fiji Government and the Fiji Locally Managed Area Network.
